연혁

• 1948년 7월 17일: 상공부(Ministry of Commerce-Industry) 설치

• 1977년 12월 16일: 동력자원부(Ministry of Energy and Resources) 신설

• 1993년 3월 6일: 상공부와 동력자원부를 통합하여 상공자원부(Ministry of Commerce-Industry and Resources)로 개편

• 1994년 12월 23일: 통상산업부(Ministry of Trade and Industry)로 개편

• 1998년 2월 28일: 산업자원부(Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy)로 개편

• 2008년 2월 29일: 지식경제부(Ministry of Knowledge Economy)로 개편

• 2013년 3월 23일: 산업통상자원부(Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy)로 개편

• 2025년 10월 1일: 산업통상부(Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources, MOTIR)로 변경 ^[1]
