Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) is a representative decimal classification system, first published by Melvil Dewey in 1876. The 23rd edition, released in 2011, was the final print version; since then, WebDewey 2.0 has become the most up-to-date version).[1][2]
The Open Archives applies the three hierarchical levels of the DDC—class, division, and section—for KOS classification.
